About Hajj and Umrah

Allah the Almighty says: “Indeed, the first House (Sacred Place) established for mankind was the one at Makkah, a blessing and a guidance for all the worlds. In it are clear signs, the station of Abraham. Whoever enters it is secure. Pilgrimage to it is a duty upon mankind from Allah for whoever is able to do so. And whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is Free from need of the worlds.” Al-Imran: 96-97

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) said: “Sins are forgiven from one Umrah to another, and the Hajj performed without committing any sin is not rewarded except Paradise.” – Bukhari: 3/ 597/ ? 1773. Muslim: 2/ 983/ ? 1349. Tirmidhi: 2/ 206/ ? 937. Ibn Majah: 2/ 964/ ? 2888. An-Nasai: 5/ 115.

Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said: “Those who fight in the way of Allah and perform Hajj and Umrah are the guests of Allah. Allah has called them and they have responded to His call. Whatever they ask of Allah, He will give them.” This hadith is hasan. Sahih Sunan Ibn Majah: ? 2339. Ibn Majah: 2/ 966/ ? 2893.
